Week of 9/8

We've been busy this week! Here's a look at a few of the things we've been working on.

First, Miss Christa finished up a unit on Where We Live. We've been talking about our city, state, and county. We looked up our addresses, interacted with GoogleMaps of Rock Hill, made our State Flag, and made the American Flag. We learned that we live in our home, on a street, in our city, in our state, in our county.

Second, in News-2-You we have been learning about our national anthem, "The Star Spangled Banner." This year marks it's 200th birthday!

In addition to learning about the our national anthem's history, we made "Fireworks in a Jar" to introduce our Science Journals. Check out some pictures of us working hard on making observations.

Waiting patiently for our "fireworks" to appear.

Here's they go!

The boys are busy making observations with Miss Christa.

Drawing pictures of our observations.

Comparing our pictures with the experiment.

Our finished journal pages!

This was a super easy and fun experiment that you can do at home! Click here for instructions if you'd like to try for yourself!
