Glencairn Gardens

Today the Parks and Recreation staff took us to visit Rock Hill's iconic Glencairn Gardens. Miss Hope from Outdoor Education led us in a tour of the gardens while we played a group scavenger hunt to find all of the garden's landmarks. The students enjoyed learning map skills and searching for the locations on our scavenger hunt!

At the end of the trip we made a stop to see the Veteran's Garden. In News-2-You this week we have been learning about Honor Flight - a group that takes World War II veterans to see the World War II memorial in Washington, DC. We've been talking about showing our veterans honor and thanks for the sacrifices they made for our country. Our students enjoyed seeing "our" veterans memorial.
